I have been reading remarkable reviews on this new camera from Fuji. Has anyone purchased one and if so, tell us what you think. I think it would be perfect for travel, kids and street photography. The cropped sensor appears to be equal to the D7000 from the images I've seen. I hear tell, it may give most DSLRs a run for the money... Wadda ya think ?
I have had one for a few months. It's a fabulous camera that delivers rich, vibrant and clear photographs using a relatively large sensor. It is a superb travel camera if you can live with the fixed lens.
I also purchased the Fuji X10. Although it has a smaller sensor, the zoom lens compensates sufficiently that I usually throw both in my travel bag, and use the X10 slightly more often, especially outdoors.
The X100 has an advantage for indoor photos for no-flash people snapshots due to the fast lens. The X10 handles the variety of subject outdoors because of the zoom.
The X100 is a really terrific camera with a very solid feel! I hope this helps a little.
