Once again, putzing around the garden today.
Astilbe
Have no clue. Each bloom is only 1/8 in. in diameter. Very pretty in real life.
Not a flower. I hate these things.

I think #1 and 3 are fine, the depth of field and color of the background bring out the subject. In #2, the background is too strongly saturated for me, stronger than the subtle color of the subject.

I like the 2nd shot, think it just needs cropped some, seems too centered (but that's just me). ;)

Don't give up. I see lots of potted plants at Home Depot. Just get a few and set them around and get to shooting. :) Or sneak over to the neighbors house. :) Or if you come over and help mulch this weekend, I'll let you take pictures all you want. Even give you diner!
