Pentax (K) to Leica (M) Adapter. Yes, there really is such a thing.
Anyone out there shoot Leica M cameras (Rangefinder Models)? I've come in to possession of a rather oddball accessory that I don't see how it could be useful to me. Are you or do you know anyone who might be interested in a Pentax K (lens) to Leica M (camera) bayonet adapter? It is a strange but simple little gadget. It would have to be used totally manually. I'm not even sure how you focus when using it because Leica M cameras are Rangefinder cameras not Reflex cameras like a Leica R. I'm not even sure this thing can be used on really early Leica M cameras before M5. Though with an additional M42 to K adapter you can mount pre-1975 Pentax Takumar M42 Screw Mount lenses on a Leica M as well. It appears to be new. Anyway, if you are interested, I'm asking for $40.00 for it including postage. I'll also toss in a couple surprise accessories free (nothing really exciting) just to clean up around here. It looks like this (below).
I found this interesting. A Pentax to Leica mount?
I am not a fan of Leica cameras and lenses but those who are swear Ernst Leitz manufactures the best lenses of the world.

Ha!!!
Pentax Takumar ain't no slouch, and some have outshot Leica. In fact a lot of collaboration has gone on over the years between Minolta and Leica, both on camera bodies and lens formulas. Minolta created the prototype for the Leica R SLR, and the Leica CL was Minolta derived. Even now Leica collaborates with Panasonic on lenses. Leica was one of the original partners in the 4:3 sensor consortium, but dropped out at the last minute.
But when you pay what people pay for Leica, you gotta exercise your bragging rights.

This would be used on a Visoflex, for close focusing only.

Not sure what a "Visoflex" is, but I am pretty sure the thing is meant to focus to infinity on a FILM M-series Leica. Really not sure what the mounts on digital Leica M & R cameras are like or how the rangefinder can work with anything but a actual Leica M-Lens (manually obviously). The depth is for adjusting the rear element (or focus node) to film requirements of the Pentax lenses, M-42 Takumars and Ks are the same.

You're absolutely right, this "oddball accessory" (as you put it aptly) is exactly what it says it is -- nothing to do with the
Leica Visoflex system.
Just FYI, from a practical standpoint, the utility of this adapter is pretty limited; nonetheless, it is certainly usable. For example, here's a quick snap of my M (TYP 240) with a Spiratone 12mm Fish-Eye (T2 K-mount) attached using a Kipon brand PK-M adapter. This particular lens is fixed-focus so that aspect is not of concern since the lens itself doesn't focus in the first place; and framing the shot (or even focusing the lens, if that was necessary) can be done easily using the 240's live view or accessory EVF plug-in gizmo. Also, note that since the Spiratone is fixed-focus, this set up could be used with any M bayonet body, film or digital, although accurate framing would pose a challenge.

"More useful" would probably be more accurate. Using retrofocus lenses kind of defeats the purpose of buying a Leica M mount camera.
