Go to www.MeetUp.com. List your interest as photography. Enter your town or ZIP code. Answer whether you are willing to drive 10-miles, 20-miles, etc. You will be provided with a list of photography MeetUp groups within your area. I belong to five different photo groups, so that I can choose which outing to attend on weekends.

Deb where in Southwest Michigan are you located? There is the Motor City Camera Club http://www.motorcitycameraclub.com/ located in Bloomfield Michigan. We met each Monday night. Take a look at the website.

Thank You, I will do that. I'm looking forward to finding something. I learn a lot better that way than from books.

I live in NC and was one of 5 founding members of the Coastal Carolina Camera Club. We started by placing an ad in the local paper asking that anyone with an interest in photography or starting a camera club meet at a specific time and place, we used the local library. We had about 12 people show up, from that group we called ourselves a camera club and began structuring meetings, programs, and other things a club needs for structure. Within 3 months our membership was near 100. We have a web-site, www.coastalcarolinacameraclub.org, became a club member of PSA, have juried competitions, monthly themes and field trips and meet monthly. We are a strong group with a diverse level of interests and talent. Keep working on getting a group formed and enjoy yourself.

Considering there is three of you in the area and 4 if you include myself, we could always start our own club... Thoughts??

I have found at least two groups here (in Alaska) at www.MeetUp.com and evidently you can find them pretty much everywhere so go check it out.
I'm signed up for a Moose Rut, model session, a food photography (and then we eat it) session at the very least. How fun is that. Go find out what is in your area. And as several have said if you don't find what you want, well by golly create your own.
