Adobe PSE 10 or Lightroom 4??

I need some advice. I have PSE 8 now. I was thinking of upgrading to PSE 10, then I wondered...maybe I should get LR and just stay with PSE 8? Is LR the better way to go? Is LR better than Elements? Any ideas would be appreciated so much!

This is a very common question and so much depends on what you are doing. Elements and LR are not intended to address the same things, while they do overlap in many areas. Both are great products by Adobe, so it is what you want and need that should be the focus of the question as to which is the better way to go.
I suggest that you read some of the answers others have provided to this question here on UHH to help you quickly get a good spectrum of criteria, opinions and comments from UHH members regarding PSE10 & LR4. There is a lot of good information already here to help you. Then focus your question to some specifics based on what you want to do. That will encourage more suggestions from our more knowledgeable members.

I would go with LR. You'll find RAW processing in LR very convenient and can use PSE where necessary for finishing touches or special effects. And if you find it lacking you could always upgrade later.

I have PSE 10 as it was free when I bought a pc. Newegg has Lightroom 4 for Windows and Mac-student and teachers addition on today only for $64.00, just got the notice.

I recently saw an alternative to LR by Corel. Called Aftershotpro. New but seems to be real competitor to LR. Can send image to PSE from there. On special for $59 this month.

Get lightroom 4 you won't be sorry ,after you have it a while you will know if you want or need the newer elements
