I've been involved in photography for many years. Starting with an Argus C3, followed by my first 35mm camera, a Miranda. Switched to Canon equipment after Miranda went out of business. Taught photography in an extension program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I came in contact with Ernst Haas at one workshop hosted by the program. Later, the National Geographic photgrapher, Sam Abel, also presented a workshop. I've also attended workshops with Freeman Patterson and Harvey Lloyd. Workshops have helped validate my work and exposed me to a wealth of different approaches.
In reading some of the recent posts, there have been references to camera manuals. I have found good substitutes for manuals in a series of cheat sheets that are available for most Nikon and Canon DSLRS. you will find a link at Amazon.
Duly noted..and very impressed. Welcome aboard. I am looking forward to your contributions and your images.
Your picture reminds me of Newfoundland where I lived for several years working at Memorial University of Newfoundland. There I met two fellow yanks who introduced me to kayakaing. Your pictures reminds me of those days. I had a two seater which I built myself from a kit. It had a yellow deck like yours. I've noted that you are one of the regular contributors.

I try to help out but am.. to a fault rather outspoken(growing up with three brothers will do that) I have a wry sense of humor so some don't appreciate me. I have yet to post for a critque..I know what I like of my photos..so I don't tend to ask for advice..afterall..who am I trying to please but me! I guess that sounds a bit arrogent but if I show my work for critique..you better show me your credentials..or I am not buying it. I mostly post in other peoples threads ..best of wilfdife etc..if they want to comment great if not the pics are there for your viewing pleasure.I do enjoy reading the critques. There is some useful information and ..some misinformation.
just be careful not to post over 72dpi..
Enjoy..its a fun site..remember to leave your sense of humor home .

Nope! "Not gunna do it," to quote G. Bush I. Got this philosophy - "if you can't take a joke, screw you!"

Yup, you're sure right about that. In the box my comment is in, right up at the very top it shows that liv2paddle is who I was responding to and who was responding to you. Welcome. Glad to see you here.
