I have a canon 350d, it is used better, and with battery grip for canon 350d. As the second battery, very good.

Although I own and use several excellent Lumix cameras, my favorite walk around item is a Sony TX7. It's low-light capabilities are noteworthy as it its panorama feature. Also, it's mighty fine for eBay photos.

The primary negative for this camera is its very short battery life. To remedy this I carry a spare that's easy to install.

As a companion to my TX7 I carry a Lumix that's about the same size which has been converted for infrared photography.

The TX7 is an older model, and available at affordable prices. I haven't kept up with the development of this model because it does all that I want. Accordingly, I recommend it with enthusiasm.
All the best,

Martin

The Nikon P510 is relatively inexpensive, has a 1000 mm zoom, great bridge camera, does not fit in your pocket but the price is right and no need for lenses. For the pocket, you can not go wrong with a Casio EXilm.

I am still using a 5 or 6 year old Canon SD890 IS, and it does really well for me. Very compact, great battery life.

I chose the Sony DSC-H90 over the HX20V. The 20V limits burst photos to 10 pix. The H90 doesn't. For my use, I really wanted unlimited burst which is hard to find in a High Zoom Point and Shoot. The H90 is only 16X optical zoom vs 20X with the 20V. Other than that, I find the H90 a great camera for my use. Check it out if you are thinking the 20V

I wanted a camera with built-in GPS, and the HX9V did well in camparison tests with similar cameras. In reality, it would take ten minutes or more to get the GPS signal, and by that time, I was somewhere else. I returned the camera and got a Sony DSC-WX9, mainly for the in-camera panorama feature. I also wanted a nice, small camera to carry in my pocket. I have used it for a few days, and I like it. I bought a refurb directly from the Sony site.
