eBay is loaded with them and they are cheap. One thing to remember about FD canon lenses. There is no way to test, or check movement on aperture blades UNLESS they are affixed to a Canon FD mount, be it the camera body, or a mirrorless adaptor. You cannot make the aperture blades move by the fittings on the back if they are not mounted.

There is a good reason Canon abandoned the mount FD/FL when they went to Autofocus. PO'd a lot of people.

I sell them frequently, but I just sold my last two, thank GOD! Because of their wonky lens register distance, they are tricky to use as legacy glass on mirrorless. It can be done. Now if they were just better glass.

I just sold a 28mm f2.8 for $40 and a 50mm f1.8 for $35.... about what they normally sell for. I sold a 50mm SSC f1.4 a couple of months ago for $75.

Now, if you have a Canon FD body.... well OK.

Yes, but not for sale. I still use mine on the FL and FD bodies I have. Super lenses, some L glass as well. Use my 100mm FLM frequently on my 7D.

I just bought a T90, which I unfortunately got rid of when I bought my first digital Canon. It was (and still is) a great camera. Yes, I have read all of the problems that it has, but I bought it from KEH and can return it in 14 days if I have to. I also bought a couple of lenses (they are cheap) just to get started again. Hope it works!

When somebody asks if anyone has a such-n-such item they want to sell, why does that anyone respond by saying they have the item but it's not for sale? Why say anything at all? Just to torment the potential buyer?

I have an item on my todo list to get a quote from KEH for a few items to sell here or there, based on interest. One is a Canon FD 24mm f/2. My notes say I bought it used for $450 a few years ago off eBay. I'm at work so I'll have to double check when I get home and make sure what my notes say is the exact lens I plan to sell. I don't remember having a non L FD lens at 24mm with this value ...

If you go to page 4 of this very classified section, you will find a listing for a number of Canon FD lenses.

There is a fellow in Nevada with a camera shop. He will clean the dirty shutter magnets which cause the EEE error in the T90. He will CLA the camera while fixing the EEE problem.

He used to be a Canon employee and knows the T90 well. In fact, for a few extra bucks he will put an external flash synch on the body, which some people groaned about the lack of originally..

His name is Steve if I recall and if you want his info, I will dig it out. PM Me

He has fixed the EEE problem on three T90's for me. In fact he told me the only reason for the EEE problem on the T90 was lack of use. If you want a well functioning T90...... YOU HAVE TO USE IT REGULARLY. If you get an EEE error, don't pay to have it fixed, unless you are going to use your T90 on a regular basis. The shutter magnets were a bit too small, and they fixed that on the first EOS camera's as they found the fault in the T90.

Googled "Steve with a camera shop in Nevada" and got this. From some of the comments on Yelp and on Camera Clinic's Facebook page there is a guy named Steve there. They have four and a half stars on Yelp.

Google knows everything. Glad I found this since Sparks isn't too far from me. And if I go up there on a Friday I can check out what they have up on auction at Lightning Auctions for that weekend.

Hey Paul -

I sent you a PM on two f/2 FD lenses that don't have a place in my kit any longer. From my own experience of returning to film and returning to the FD mount, I'd look for the following lenses to make your T90 shine:

FD 135mm f/2 - amazingly sharp, build in shade
FD 35mm f/2 - below is a link to a Flickr image I know came from this lens
FD 80-200mm f/4L - the B&W lizard is this lens
FD 300 f/4L

These range in the $200 to $450 pricing from reputable resellers. There's other FD Ls (24 / 50 / 85) that are running $1000+ even today nearly 30-years after the FD mount was discontinued. You might not need to focus so much on lenses as much as the quality of film you use. My T50 from '84 and the 50 f/1.8 kit lens it came with took the best photo I ever produced with this combo when shooting EKTAR 100 a few summers ago. The color image below is EKTAR and an F1-N and the B&W is an AE-1 and Fuji Neopan.

I'm pretty sure that's the fellow. I see the contact address is Sparks NV and I recall that as being right. Also the name Camera Clinic sounds right.

If you talk to him, ask him if he's the fellow who adds a flash synch to the T90 body. Only one I've ever heard of to do that.

I spoke with him once and in the course of doing two camera's at one time and another later (few years ago) he filled me in on the chronic issue with the dirty shutter magnets and using your T90 regularly to avoid the EEE error.

I too can vouch for Steve 'at' CameraClinicUSA dot com. They did some repair work for me on an F1-New and to repair some 'repair work' done elsewhere after this body and an FD lens took a damaging fall onto a marble floor. I'd recommend them over anyone I've worked with for digital or film cameras and lens repairs.
