May I share some information for those of us who have been orphaned by the death of Eye-Fi?
I bought a Toshiba Air recently to use in our Canon Powershot G15 in anticipation of an international trip. I have decided to not take a laptop and wanted some way to move photos to the mobile smartphone from which they will go to the cloud and to an attached USB.
I tried it with a couple of shots in the backyard and it worked fine, but we had a successful robust test two days ago. My wife took the G15 on a hike at a nearby canyon and came back with about 30 photos. The devices paired easily and the files transferred fairly quickly.
I learned that I will need to configure the setup to save the transferred files to the SD card so larger sets of files won’t overwhelm the internal memory, but that is a nominal effort.
While Eye-Fi may be walking back part of its decision to brick its cards, it isn’t clear to what extent they will function without glitches, risk or disaster.
I’ll stick with Toshiba Air for now. Usual disclaimers apply.
Note for those like me who Google "toshiba air", try "toshiba air sd card" instead. Otherwise you will be reading about air conditioners.

I've not found an international data plan that would support that at a reasonable cost. What have you found? Thanks.
Verizon offers a 30-day international plan with (I think) 100MB data. But, with Wi-Fi so ubiquitous, I'm planning to access that for uploads to the cloud. I'll use the data for other stuff. I can't get to my info now, but I thought it reasonable.
