Movie Review (as much a warning as a review) "Suicide Squad".
I went to see it last night... I may be a some what jaded and cynical individual, however I'm far from being suicidal... that
course of action would please my enemies, and I'm not going there... having said that, 5 minutes into that 175 million US
dollar insult to original thought, logic and reason; I was kind of hoping I would drop dead, as my morbid curiosity forced
me to remain seated to the unclimactic end of the greatest cinematic absurdity I have ever endured.
"It" is a copy of numerous other super hero fliks... A kind of montage. Unlike most plagiarists though, this is where the
creators found "originality";
instead of copying the good, they copied the bad.
What really screws my mind is the fact that so far it has grossed point 5 billion US dollars... We are morons...
In my defence, I'm only half moronic, as I viewed it on "Half price Monday". :-/

I know just where your coming from. I very seldom go to first run movies any more. Too many times Ive fell for the adds and came out thinking "That's two hours ill never get back."
Don't be afraid to walk out when they're that bad. They got your money, you don't have to let them have your soul, too, by pretending it's worth watching, lol.

Thinking that it was impossible to get worse, I sat through it waiting for it to get better... but that never happened.
This post got my thinking, what was the last movie I saw? When I discovered what it was I was astounded it has been that long, how about Barbara Streisand's 'Yentel', 1983.

Yentel!... LOL
I bet that had you wanting to gouge your eyes out with a barbeque fork.
One of my ex missus's made me see "The Piano'' with her.
The Piano is a 1993 New Zealand drama film about a mute piano player and her daughter.
Set during the mid-19th century in a rainy, muddy frontier backwater... That was
a pretty painful and depressing experience... probably as bad as Yentel... not that I can
say I have seen Yentel; thank heavens.
Having said that, as painful as it was to sit through "The Piano" it
was an artfully crafted (but very depressing) work and not a steaming pile of faecal matter
like Suicide Squad... AKA Taskforce-X
Anyway, the Kiwis, bless their cotton sox, can produce pretty good film. "Once Were Warriors"
is a gnarly piece of work well worth your time if you can find it up there, on DVD. Be warned though
it's Adults Only viewing.
Yes, it has gotten horrible reviews, even before it opened. I think that $5 billion gross reference is a bit high, though. This reminds me of politics. We know how bad they are, but we keep voting them into office.

More like $260 million, NOT 5 billion!
Yes, it's a pathetic movie.

'Good Night and Good Luck' 2005
Unlike some others here, I love going to movies in theaters and usually see a couple a week. I like Rotten Tomatoes because they have a critics' rating and and audience rating. If a film has high numbers for both, it's hard to go wrong. Suicide Squad had 26% critics and 67% audience. I love a good comic book movie, but there's nothing worse than a bad comic book movie. I saw two good movies last weekend: Sausage Party, a raunchy, politically incorrect R-rated animated feature which was very funny, and the best movie I've seen this year - Hell or High Water, a modern Western, with Jeff Bridges as an aging Texas Ranger chasing two bank robbing brothers.

I did write; "Point 5 billion"... 1/2 a billion if you prefer fractions to decimals Jerry.

Crikey! What part of
POINT 5 billion don't you drop kicks understand....
According to Forbes it has so far grossed 530 million dollars... that is point 53 billion dollars.
We saw "Keanu"................., it had a "Today Show" endorsement, and I mean, a cute kitten? It can't be bad, right??? Oh, Wrong-O. It was HORRIBLE, and had we known just how hideously vulgar it was we would have never gone, let alone taken our rather religious friends with us. We apologized profusely, as we had NO idea it was going to be that bad. And the kitten was only there about 5 minutes total in the show. Blech!
