A recent development. My photo editing programs will not display red correctly. The thumbnails show red as I imagine they really are. But when in any "View" mode they fade to washed-out red. The other things that are "Red" on the screen seem fine, only the Photo programs, Adobe CC, Nikon NXD, Windows Photo viewers, are affected, all lose the True Red in a split second of clicking on them, then once they fade, it seems that all other photos also fade. The Internet screen does not fade the Reds (Flickr pix reds stay red), the red icons on my Desktop are Red.
Any ideas what is going on? (btw, printer still prints the full red colors, but knowing if the saturation levels are good is not visible on screen). Tia, Earl
I have no idea what is causing this but my first step in the search for an answer would be monitor calibration as the on screen red appearance isn't translating to the print. Ergo the file is unaffected.

Thanks for the reply.
It is fixed. You are correct. A local power failure during an automatic system upgrade is my guess where the issue stemmed from. Color profile changed (corrupted) to an incorrect profile. The Adobe chat support agent helped me set it to the correct profile. Thanks Adobe!
