Brook's Institute Closeing

I'm sure this is old news to many, but the venerated Brook's Institute of Photography is closing. I guess it has been going downhill since the Brooks' sold it in 1993. I attended, but did not graduate, back in 1965. (That makes me really old) I know some here did graduate and the posts they show reflect the discipline the school demanded.

My Bachelor of Arts in Photography graduating class in June 1979, when it was stilled called Brooks Institute of Photography. I am wearing powder blue leisure suit, far right (don't ask!).

most of us survived the leisure suit era............and have pictures to prove it.......except me...........

Aw, come on--why not? Believe it or not, I had a red and white checkered one at one time. Powder blue isn't that bad.

Yes, Brooks is closing in Ventura, Ca. They tried to move their operation to the upper floors behind the Ventura City Hall, and renovate other vacant buildings in town, but may have run into financial support. Now, there are several building in downtown Ventura partially renovated, hundreds of contractors left out in the cold, and thousands of unemployed walking the streets.
Ventura is not the only city affected by the Brooks closure, they had a campus in Santa Barbara, Ca.
