Currently using 7000 have 50 1/4D -kit 18-105 -- 55 - 200VR -have about $600 to spend on photo stuff -should I get flash or tokina 11-16 wide angle -- trying to fill out my bag -- will be getting rid of 55-200 down the road and looking at 70-200 2.8 when I save up. Your .02 worth.

I love love love my 70-300mm Tamron. I was considering the wide angle but honestly the type of pictures I take I would not use it as much. Consider what you are taking pictures of the most. Don't buy something to have it and then not use it.

It really depends on YOU and the type of shooting you do. The flash will give you more control over light, which could potentially be used in a large number of situations. The wide angle lens would have less impact on the pictures that I take, but you know your tastes better than anyone. I have a D7000 with a SB-900 Speedlight and it has made a big improvement to my photography.

Looking at your avatar the wide angle may not be what you need. I do take a lot of airplane shots and the 70-300 zoom works best for me.

THanks for all the comments --- I'm just one of those guys I take my camera in the car and all of sudden there is opportunity for a nice photo and I don't have the right lens at my disposal -- I like to cover all my bases -- I know I have to use my present equipment to all it's capabilties but I always wonder if I had this "lens" would it be better.

Nikon considers the following "must have" lenses if you pursue photography professionally:

- 14-24
- 24-70
- 70-200
- 200-400

Of course, you'll have to mortgage the house if you buy them all at once.

I bought, and like very much, the Nikkor 10-24, then bought the 17-55. I really like both of these lenses. Like you, my next lens purchase will be the 70-200 to replace my 55-200.
