I was watching a news report on the fire in California. From a safe area an evacuee was watching his house catch fire and burn to the ground. A reporter asked him how it felt to see his house burn. What an asshole.
Well he was happy of course. No more payments. CD
Reporter these days don't report they invent situations or story's to generate sensational, there not interested in the truth, there only aim is headline anything else is unimportant

".. there is nothing new under the sun"
Ecclesiastes 1:9One of the images seared in my memory is of an airplane loaded with coffins returning from Vietnam. As families stood around waiting for the unloading ceremony to begin, one of the TV reporters stuck his microphone under the chin of someone who was obviously a young new widow, and asked "How do you feel right now?"

Not "heartless" we would refer to him as a complete moron.

You are correct. I'm wondering if this new style is a result of the teachings in Journalism Colleges today. I hear senseless questions almost daily from reporters, local and national. Most are young too.
Very True they lie, cheat and steal to beat the competition. They love the bad news but do not report the news. Anymore you can't really believe what they are reporting.
It's all about corporate earnings. The stories that sell the most ad space are the ones that get the focus. And broadcast media is the worst. Sensationalism, blood, grief and nonesense, that's what a lot if not most, of them push. Remember a few years back, when all we heard about for days on end, was Britney Spears' latest meltdown? Important events all over the world were almost completely ignored, but we heard about her every damn day.
Sad to say they can control what is released and sway many people in their thinking. Really can't trust them, no pride in doing whats right just show me and my bosses the money!!!

They are no longer news reporters, they are news making gutter snipers from the school of Tabloid Journalism. Just because a person reads doesn't mean they are educated, those type people are the targets of their reporting! They sensationalize, weather about a two headed creature from Mars or someone's home burning! The almighty dollar is their only measuring stick !
You hit a very sensitive issue with me. We live in St. Louis, and proud of our city. But the night of the riots in Ferguson, I watched the local stations coverage. They were not "reporting" the news, they were "making" the news. They were feeding the frenzy. I could not believe that was happening, but as I switched different stations, they were all "in" the middle of it, and seriously there to "make" the news, not to "report" it.
Months later, I read a story in the news, print news, a survey of local TV news outlets, and sadly St. Louis was reported in a survey to be the 3rd. worse city with it's TV news outlets. I watched it degrade over time, and I was not at all surprised. Very sad, for at one time, we had some excellent TV news stations, but not any more.

Saw a reporter slither under my wood pile yesterday. Oh, excuse me, that was just a snake.

Technically, Any difference between what was owed and what the insurance paid (assuming the home-owner had insurance), is still owed the bank.
