I say, I wouldn't put a bumper sticker on a Ferrari or a McDonald on the rim of the Grand Canyon to make either more beautiful so how can a tattoo make a pretty girl prettier. Put the art work on a canvas and leave the girl alone. Tattoos don't tend to get better with age.

Agree. They are a distraction from the beauty that lies underneath. Unless you’re featuring the tattoo, what’s the point. Also, many of these tattoos I’m seeing are terrible subject matter and many are poorly executed.

I've been pretty surprised at how many have expressed a strong dislike of tattoos on women. Is that all women or just models?
Personally I think tattoos look beautiful, especially on a beautiful woman. But like all art, there is art that we like and art that we don't.
What's been implied by some is that it doesn't matter the tattoos, that they are not acceptable at all by some. That a woman must be inherently stupid to get a tattoo. My doctor is a womon and has a few tattoos(at least that I can see).
One of my goals is to start shooting Suicide Girls, simply because I love the look! One of my favorite Models is Leah Jung, and would love to shoot her some day!
So what is it that you don't like, or DO like about tattoos on models or women in general. What about on men?
Feel free to post some examples either way.
It's a brave new world out there.

I don't like tattoos on men either. I think that they are a reflection of an inner insecurity. Just my opinion.

Harry is making his point, I understand. Years ago I was driving in Houston, directly in front of me was a brand new Royals Royce, across the trunk of the car, ON THE PAINT was a bumper sticker that stated "I would rather be sailing" It is the only bumper sticker on a car that has ever impressed me!

Funny that you mention a restaurant on the rim of the canyon. I visited the Hidden City in China last year. And the guide explained that they had a Starbucks Coffee Shop inside the gates, and decided to take it out as it was not in the character of the iconic venue. Such history!

I understand this will inflame many here, but I think it should be said. Those who protest showing photos of women with tattoos, and those who look at them for prurient reasons.

I see art and beauty in smooth, unblemished, beautiful skin.

Larry,

Get out of your shell. Expose yourself to different things, and you will grow and live a better life.

Just don't look at photos of tatted women. Nothing to see here, just drive on. Personally I don't have a strong opinion either way. We who don't really care one way or the other don't want to hear your prattling. Do something constructive with your life.

So what is it that you don't like, or DO like about tattoos on models or women in general. What about on men.

The acceptance or non-acceptance of tattoos on men or women is largely a generational thing. Long hair and hard rock was disgusting to some parents of young people in the 60s and 70s. Ironically, us long haired freaks from that time period (which we were called by some), are now turned off by the present fads of our young folks. Karma is a b___h. :-)

That being said, long hair and hard rock didn't scar me for life. Well, except for the ringing in my ears from loud rock bands.

The beautiful artwork placed on one's body when young is just that. But the ink tends to fade with time and the skin wrinkles. I saw an older woman in the parking lot of a local shopping center a few days ago. It was apparent that she had at one time had a tattoo of beautiful lace done around her neck. But, as I said, the skin wrinkles and the ink fades. The ink around her neck was now a dark shade of blue and the once pretty lace was now all bunched together because of the wrinkles. She absolutely looked as if someone had tried to strangle her.

So, to you young beautiful people, If strangled and stained is the look you want beyond your 50s and 60s, then go for it. It's going to look great in your family portraits.

I'll say this again. What you mean to say is that BAD tattoos are like BAD boob jobs. I must again refer you to the toupee effect. You say they all look bad because all you can see are the bad ones. I know two guys who have rugs that ire totally imperceptible. The moral here? The best bid isn't always the low one.

But to go back to the attitudes of your younger years, may I ask, What business do you have telling someone else what they can do to their own body. I'll bet I could find something that I find as unacceptable about yours.

Free clothes for life. A company is offering a deal whereby you will receive free clothes for the rest of your life. The catch? They're the same. Identical. You'll be dressed in the same shirt and pants, same color, every day forever. You can not wear anything different, ever. Any takers?
