Please read before looking at the photos!
The first photo I took that day was during our Motorcycle Club's annual run thru Yosemite.
If you've ever been to Yosemite, the second photo I took is a familiar one taken by millions of people from around the world.
The third photo is my composite of the two photos above.
We had over a 100 bikes on this run. I put this photo on the Cover page of our Newsletter, which I was the editor of at the time. On the inside cover page was a cover story about the photo. " If you missed the run this year, you missed out on being the first MC Club to ride the new John C. Fremont Pathway! It offered exceptional views never before available through the heart of the Valley. In fact it's so new they don't even have maps made yet. You'll have to ask at the gate for directions the next time you visit." Several, over the following weeks, asked at the gate!
The idea of combining these came when I placed them, one on top of the other, onto the cover page. Not very impressed with that, I noticed how the small road on the right side of the bridge photo could possibly line up with the water falls in the Yosemite photo. The third photo emerged an hour later!

Thank you Carol! This was done several years ago. I no longer ride, although I still have my Goldwing 1800cc still sitting in the garage. They were fun days to be sure!

Love the image Bill! A very creative blend of two photos that just seem to fit together.

When making a composite, there is a fairly simple way to blend the foreground with the background so you don't have any "sharp edges" between the two. Create a white Layer Mask on the top image, select a soft black brush, set the Opacity of the brush down to around 20% or so (set to your individual preference), then paint over the edge where the images intersect. This has the benefit of bringing up just enough of the background color and texture so that it will create a more natural look to the finished image.

Thanks Bob! As I mentioned above, I did this several years ago and have learned a lot since than. Thanks for the tip! I'll be sure to use it in the future!
