When I read the words DA or "Digital Artistry" my mind immediately thinks of taking a photo and altering it to enhance the photo in a creative way. I hope my thoughts are similar to yours on this topic.
My very favorite photographic subject is surfing photos. I'm attaching a few of my DA photos under the topic of surfing. I've also added a few extras that don't have much to do with surfing but I thought you might enjoy them from a digital artistry standpoint. I hope you like them!

#1 - danger, athleticism, artistry (the surfer's and yours). Super impact! Minnie posted a topic in D.A. asking about combining textures with edges/border. Maybe check in with her on this one?

#3 - Great fun! A chaos of colors, mesmerizing.

#5 - Love the pp and the period clothing. Interesting, enjoyable image.

Quite an impressive assortment of creative treatments. I am particularly drawn to the last shot. I like the sepia tones and the textures. It is a timeless look and very well executed.

That is just some incredible, imaginative, visionary stuff. With maaaybe the exception of the paint-spatter pier, every shot could stand with no further treatment. There is a definite art to finishing. You have it. I wish I did. Elsewhere somebody remarked that one way to judge a picture is to ask yourself, "Do I wish I'd made it?" Yeah! 😄

I love all of these Brent; the stop action you achieved in the surfing photos is amazing. I really like that last one of the old guy with the watch; very well done my friend!.

Thank you Linda for your input on these photos and the artistry work that I put into them. How can I contact Minnie? I will be happy to talk to her.

Thanks very much Cwilson341 for checking this out and your nice comments, especially about that last one. I was at a Boy Scout camp 2 summers ago up in the mountains and met this man named "Pappy". He and a few others dressed in period clothing and I asked him if I could photograph him. He was a real character and I am happy to have worked the photo over in sepia tones and I think the photo worked out well with my post production creative treatments on it.

Chuck, thanks so much for the extreme compliments! I have an unfair advantage over most of the photographers here on UHH................I'm an artist first and a photographer second! I would like to point out that the more you shoot and the more you learn about this "photography thing" the better you will become at it. I watch a lot of youtube videos on new ways of doing photography. Thanks for wishing you had made these photos. (except for the paint splattered pier)! lol

Thanks very much Treepusher for your nice compliments and appreciation for these photos. It's interesting to me that Chuck_893 didn't care for the shot of the boardwalk but you have a totally different appreciation for the same image. Each person has their own personal likes and dislikes and we all must respect that. A few years ago I entered what I thought was an amazing photo in the Orange County Fair photographic competition and the photo was not even accepted into the contest. Last year I entered it into our local city photo competition and it won 1st place. That tells me a lot about judge's personal opinions.

jwt, thanks so very much for stopping by this thread of photos and your very pleasant remarks about them. I'm glad you liked the last one of the old guy with the watch. He was a real character and I think it shows.
