Not sure what the huge fascination is with people who worry about what gear other people are shooting. Worry less, and shoot more.

n3, your rig will be more than adequate for covering Pee Wee League, T-Ball and birthday parties!!!
Much beyond that you'll need a REAL camera, preferably with a white lens!!!

Kodak makes white lenses for their S-1. Unfortunately, they look more suited to sitting on a bathroom counter than on a camera.

We must have been looking at different events. I was was watching men's track and field (100 & 400M), got a brief look at the photographers and pointed out to my wife that out of the twenty or so BIG (I would guess 500 or 600mm) lenses, there were only two that weren't white. I was actually surprised that almost everyone was shooting the same thing. Maybe they shoot Canon at the men's events and Nikon at the woman's? 😀
