Earlier today Snap Shot posted an old tire in an alleyway in the topic "Touring Back Alleys" ( http://static.uglyhedgehog.com/upload/2016/8/14/208725-img_6019.jpg ). With his permission I am posting the part of this photo that interested me most ..... the design work within the middle of the tire itself. We all have different ways of seeing things .... and depicting them.
Common and Ordinary given that special touch that allows for a second look. It took a short minute for me to realize what I was looking at with new interest. Artfully rendered and enjoyed.
Interesting photo. I like the textures and the variations in the symmetry.
Thanks Dianne. It looked to me almost as if there were individual windows around the periphery to highlight various portions of the background. I must admit, I worked to make it more an abstract art-piece than an accurate portrayal of a discarded tire.

Thank you Carla. If you haven't seen the original yet, I just updated the opening comment to include a link to the original photo. You should take a look for comparison. I once told my sister I have been known to take a postage-stamp sized crop of a much larger image and turn it into its own showpiece. I tried to do that here.

You've made Bill's capture look like a shield from the day's of the gladiator; your penchant for olden weapons is showing through Bob! Well done!.

Interesting point Jim. If you didn't know where this came from, it might be hard to figure out where it all started. But you're right, it DOES look like a shield. I have to admit ..... my favorite eras in history were all before the invention of gunpowder projectiles.
Bob, you gave it a whole new life and meaning.... Iike it and the textures you used!!
Thank you Angela. Although I don't get engaged in them, this might be fun to start one of those "Guess what this is?" topics, and see how many different guesses would come in.

Nice job on this, Bob. Makes an interesting figure, and well rendered.
Thank you Randy. It definitely goes to show that different folks will process the same original photo in a myriad of ways. Which is exactly how it should be. If I haven't stated it publicly before, I encourage everyone to develop their own "style" (or styles if they're really gung-ho).
