Really enjoyed your pictures. What do you think about #4, the boy at the beach, if the background layer were darkened, the boy removed, and then the boy added back. This is not a criticism but a curious question from one who is learning layers in Photoshop Elements.

I haven't done anything using layers in photo shop. I mostly use lightroom and the nik software.
When I get time I might try it. I don't do a lot of processing to my photos.

Picture #4 is definitely my favorite here. I would crop down from the top and in from the right to eliminate some of the distracting background and move the boy's face off of dead center (per the rule of 1/3s) as well as put more emphasis on the subject

Made a few adjustments using Color Efex 4 and lightroom and cropped it as a square. Do you like this one better?

They're beautiful and they make me a little "home" sick, Bizzy! Our son lives near there and we love the Outer Banks!
