Did this for a present for my grandaughter on her 16th birthday.
Love that face.. Great job.. I like that you put a little bit of his collar in the picture.
Amazing! How long does it take you to do one of these? I was finally persuaded to join a senior painting group. I say "finally" because I have no artistic ability, so it took a lot of persuading. I can do something and call it an oil painting, but it will take me months (one day a week) to complete it. The group is all women, by the way, so it's a pleasant two hours.
Outstanding work, brain damage. I almost expect the image to start slobbering!
Thanks very much for looking.

Thanks for looking Gerry. I normally take around 10-12 hours per image as it's a question of layering and blending, increasing or decrecreasing colour and contrast. The beauty of coloured pencils is thet you can erase bits that are not right and start again. I usually employ the tactic of getting as much colour down and then start to erase and blend. Some of my woek has taken days not just hours e.g. "Grizzly" if you have seen that one I did the water droplets with correction fluid. That art group sounds good do you paint any nude still lifes?

That is a great compliment-thank you.

The women in the group are in their 70s and above, so I have desire to see them nude.
Most of the people paint from a photo, calendar pictures, something from a magazine, or just from imagination, etc. One woman's husband is an avid fisherman and takes underwater pics, which she eventually paints. Her paintings look like photographs. Someday, I'll post some of my "artwork." I must say it is totally relaxing
Fantastic job Paul, I am amazed at the detail.
Lucky grand daughter. Very nice work.
How do we know that your work is not really a photo and you are just saying it is a drawing? lol
