Please clarify: is this a true macro (1:1 magnification) or a close-up photograph (less than 1:1 mag)?

The full image is about a 2:1 magnification. It was shot with a Nikon 105 mm Macro lens and is the result of 30 images taken using Helicon remote and stacked with Helicon Focus.
