Attached are some black and white photos that I took recently at the Carmel Mission in Carmel, CA
Very interesting, goes well in B&W.
I visited Carmel years ago when I drove my Mazda RX7 up the Pacific Coast highway. Interesting town from what I remember, but that was back in the 90's.
I like your studies of shapes and textures, especially #1 and #3. I also like the shadows in the garlic (onion?) and pepper shot. Very appealing!
Very effective use of black and white.
Carmel is one of my most favorite missions. Love the B&W photos for they enhance the age of the mission. Mahalo for sharing.
Thank for your comments.I have visited the Carmel mission several times over the past 25 years and it has not changed since the 1990's since it is over 200 year old.

I never think to shoot B&W ... these may inspire me. Nice.
Nice photos all, and nice work with the black and white.
Those who visit Carmel Mission in Carmel should drive into downtown Monterey and find the Cathedral. It is named San Carlos Cathedral and is at 500 Church Street. It was the Royal Presidio Chapel. It was built in 1770, before the Mission at Carmel. It is the first stone building in CA and is the first Cathedral (Bishop's church) in CA. It proceeds the Mission because the Bishop had trouble keeping the soldiers away from the Indigenous women and so he created the Mission across the river where the soldiers were not allowed to go. You can learn more about it at:
http://www.sancarloscathedral.org/about/.
When it was restored a few years ago a joker added a Happyface to the facade as shown in my image attached. It has since been painted over.
