Excellent memorabilia. A different time, and a different America. A nice reminder of that.

Today such valor and patriotism would be shunned by the libs and their PC police

Thanks for posting, Rick. Many of us here remember those men. Many were our fathers and we were proud. Those who serve today are not so different: better trained, better equipped, and better fed. Valor and patriotism are still there in full measure.

This is from the original email:

These were our parents.

What in God's name have we let happen ?

I guess we are the last generation to see, or even remember anything like these!

Whatever happened?

70 years of ”progressive” education happened!

Political correctness (or "re-education") happened,
Lack of God's name happened,
Lack of personal responsibility happened,
Lack of personal integrity and honesty happened,
Lack of respect and loyalty to our country happened,
Lack of being an American happened.

Did all of these things die along with common sense?

I for one am still proud to be an American!

These are excellent artistic historic pieces with powerful messages. I wonder how much money was generated by the postcards?

We need a modified card #2 from the top for today's battle. You guess how.

Hi Novato....that was an easy question. From a search on the Web:

Government was $56,500,000 richer in war bond sales. At the end of World War II, January 3, 1946, the last proceeds from the Victory War Bond campaign were deposited into the U.S. Treasury. More than 85 million Americans — half the population — purchased bonds totaling $185.7 billion.

Well said Randy! It's a reminder of how it could be if we wanted it enough.
