I was glad to see the parrots came back this year. I live about 30 miles from the coast. Someone is killing them in the city. Jerks. The parrots are very noisy and can be destructive but are fun to watch. They love my neighbors fig tree and pecan trees. My barn cats keep them out of my trees. It the parrots weren't eating the fruit and nuts the crows would eat them so most of us don't care. Downloads have better detail.

Beautiful photos. You did a fine job....Rich

Great shots! There was a resident population of cherry headed conures in San Francisco you may or may not have heard of. There's also a really well-done documentary on the birds in San Francisco. Sorry the title eludes me just now thanks for sharing! :-)

Nice! I love to hear the squawk that lets you know they are there! In one spot we lived in Florida there was a flock of mixed parrots - mostly blue-crowned conures. They would come to a platform feeder with safflower seeds that I had in the back yard. If I walked out back they would fly off - but my then 4-year-old daughter could walk right up to the feeder and talk to them and they would just watch her!

Great shots. Even the in-flight ones are sharp. I don't generally pay attention to birds but these are terrific.

Thank you Frjack! I love how colorful they are. Mainly I like to photograph raptors and my backyard hummers but I can't resist the parrots. Terri

very nice shots, do you put our feeders for the parrots?

Thank you Bee7474! We have so many fruit trees and nut trees that I don't need to put out feeders for them. I do have lots of feeders for my songbirds and hummers. I also keep a pool for the Hawks to cool off in. It's hard to believe that before I got into photography the only birds I liked was a cooked turkey on Thanksgiving.

Very nice detailed pictures of beautiful birds. Seems odd, seeing photos of parrots in evergreen conifer trees. I see them up here in North County San Diego, but usually just fly overs traveling from the beach palms where they roost to the inland areas.

Thank you baca dreamer for the nice comments. The parrots don't stay for long but I enjoy getting to watch them when they are here. Last night there had to be a least a hundred and fifty of them. Terri

Great shots. Here's an interesting article about how the parrots MAY have gotten there:
