Old Mesilla, N.M. art and history
Old Mesilla is on the Old Butterfield Trail, near modern day Las Cruces. A good short day if you are ever in that area. They also have the oldest brick building in N.M. and the building Billie the Kid was sentenced to hang in. But I did not include those in this assortment.
Ristramann Chili Co. (I always get fresh NM chili powder and oregano here.)
Old gate with southwestern art
La Posta building, now an amazing New Mexican restaurant. I highly recommend the food!
Artist shop on a side street
This is the most photographed gate in Mew Mexico! But I still love it.
Metal art bigger than me
In town square

Thanks for looking, Rich!
I love Old Mesilla, and your beautiful images made me go down memory lane. Thanks for the trip! Did you head over to White Sands?

Every chance I get! Go to my topics and there is a group of photos from sunset there last week. Thanks for your compliments.
Nice shots!
I've been to Mesilla a number of times but not since I rekindled my interest in photography. I'll have to pay it a visit again.
Thank you
La Posta's been around for years. My parents took me down for dinner in 1966 when I went to college at NM State. At that time, the ladies room, as well as having 1920's era equipment was papered with black and red flocked paper. What do you expect from an old saloon?
La Posts is not to be missed.
The old church is also a good subject.
Very nice pics. Thanks.
Thanks for the tour. Have never been there. One day soon must make an extended loop of the Southwest!
Erich
You don't have NM without the chiles!
These are wonderful images, roxiemarty! I really enjoyed them! Thanks for sharing!
Great series Roxiemarty. NM is a varied and photogenic place.
Wonderful series. Very colorful, especially the chilies and folk art.
