Is the d5300 that much of an up grade from a d3200??? i have looked at all the reviews and you tube tutorials but 1st hand from you hogs is the best way for me.
I second the agreement on the D7200. The new body only price is around $1050. You already have DX lenses by owning a D3200. You may save a little more by purchasing a refurbished one from Nikon USA .

Don't have 1st had experience but the upgrades are: D5300 offers a better autofocus system, more accurate metering, articulating LCD screen is larger (3.2" vs 3"), with higher resolution. Plus you'll have Wi-Fi + GPS capabilities in D5300, latest image processor (exceed 4 vs exceed 3).
If these features are important to you then it's an upgrade. Of course D7100 or D7200 would be more significant upgrade (1st hand experience here).
I have D5300 and my wife a D3300. There is a huge difference in the menu settings with the D5300 having much more to offer. They are both terrific cameras but I am really happy with the D5300.
B&H has d7200 bodies as low as $880.00. Excellent camera and a major upgrade from a d3200.
