I just purchased an iPhone & I am trying to learn how to take photos. I shoot Nikon but I don't always have it with me. My question to you all is, can you recommend any apps that will help me take & edit better photos,if so could you recommend a few for me please? Thanks!

Do you plan on transferring your iPhone pictures to your computer? Or do you plan on editing them while they are still in your iPhone?

They have some app store, I think if you look through the apps there and read description and reviews you fill figure what users like best and what serves your needs.

Personally I would use the phone's built in camera app and the included editor, once you've tried them out you can the try other camera apps and editors, there are plenty of them, and quite a few are very good.

The iPhone camera, has many built in features that make it a very good "go to" camera by itself. You can shoot pano, HDR, and decent video.

I find the single most useful app for in-phone editing is SnapSeed. I needed help understanding the interface. It's quite ingenious, but not intuitively obvious for all. A very efficient and useful app. There are endless others. One can lose themselves in wow-zowie special fx. If you're looking for the fundamental tools for post, well-implemented, I recommend you try SnapSeed.

Before I moved up to my dslr and lightroom... I used to use SnapSeed. I thought it was quite good. At the time, it was excellent. I didn't know it was still around. If it is.... it's a very good starting point.

Highly recommend Adobe Lightroom Mobile. It will automatically "import" your iPhone images and give you robust processing capability.

Otherwise, SnapSeed is also very powerful and intuitive.

I use "ProCamera" (http://www.procamera-app.com)
It can save photos as TIFF files. Which I can then edit in Lightroom or other apps on my computer.
I can edit within the app. Use presets or custom edit. It keeps the original as well as an saved edited copies.
From within the app, I can email/SMS the (TIFF) photo as small/med/large JPEGs, with or without the GPS location. Also has other export options.
It has a very flexible HDR module. It can shoot up to 120fps video.
It has low-light modules. The LowLight + option "stacks" several low-light photos together, then reduces the noise by erasing stuff (e.g. noise) that's not in every photo.
Can trigger via a button push, earphone cord, remote bluetooth or Apple Watch.
I've posted a few samples at http://www.gopeterg.com/ProCamera/. Some have been edited in Lightroom on my Mac. Some not.

I like Camera+. Let's you adjust exposure and editing goes way beyond the iPhone photo app.

Study the operation of the HDR option with the iPhone. It will give you some great shots. You have to engage HDR and then after framing your shot, touch a bright area on the screen and the exposure will be adjusted downward to take care of the brightness highlights. A really cool feature on the phone.
