It seems like the moon would be so easy to shoot. I have yet to get it in focus, even using manual, tripod, vr off. Oh well, I'll keep trying. I would like some comments, and I do have a thick skin.
I have been obsessed with moon shots as well and it has to be manual but I don't notice a tripod making any difference. Those shots are beautiful. With a brighter sky I use a faster shutter and smaller aperture. In Bend, I used mostly 200 shutter. I am showing you 3 shots, first taken with an Olympus E-20. An old digital with an exceptional zoom lens in bend - dark skies make all the difference. Last one was taken in Palm Desert - a brighter sky with A canon rebel 250mm lens. Brighter skies detract and I have gotten best shots when the moon is not full. What do you use. I ordered a 300mm to arrive soon as I have heard they take the best moon shots.
