I had the opportunity to photograph two internationally-known bodybuilders doing a mime routine. Here's one of about 100 shots from the batch. In the midst of the routine, a bunch of schoolkids and their teacher came by. They spent about 15 minutes watching, totally amazed.
I dunno, there's something unhealthy looking about them.

You're thinking they look a little pale?
Not sure the hats do it for me, but I'd never say that out loud to them.
I'm with you on that !
Everybody has there thing.....we have a neighbor that was a former muscle man .. he looks real old to his chronological age.
But, Hey .. knock yourself out Guy's !

Where do you find this stuff richard. What great subjects. Good job
I had forgotten about this ... it was an older post, and so today when I new reply came in and I checked it out, I was flabbergasted at the "ad" that appeared on the bottom of the page. It was for "Testosterone Replacement Therapy" ... I couldn't help but laugh at either the appropriateness OR the irony of that particular ad appearing on the page for Bodybuilder Mimes . I don't know if the ads appear at random (I doubt it), and I don't know if anyone else had the same experience, but .... wow! Chuckle. Snort. Tee-Hee. Guffaw. Giggle. :?
I take all kinds of shots. For flowers, I just walk through the streets of Oakland, looking at what is blooming, and taking pictures. For the bodybuilders, I occasionally go to bodybuilding shows, see who strikes me as a good subject for pictures, and talk to them, 5 out of 10 want photos. The other five think they are God's gift to eternity and don't take the opportunity. I do a small amount of traveling, and take photos then -- Las Vegas, San Francisco, Oakland, Gambia, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, The Bahamas. I went to the flea market yesterday and got a few good ones, which I have been processing in Lightroom to make up for some really serious exposure mistakes I made. I usually shoot so that I get both a jpg and CR2 of each shot. And, truly, I haven't a clue technically what I am doing.

Its amazing what a mask, hat, and skimpy shorts will do for an image. Great work I like it. Thanks for sharing.

They look good because you have not seen the thousands that don't. I should post some of my abysmal failures here sometime. I bet some of the regulars here could give me some great pointers on how to avoid wretched results. (Other, I hope, than stop shooting.)
