My puppies apparently like technology, but maybe something a little softer to sleep on...

Bert and Angie are 12 week old Coton De Tulear puppies. Their "Formal" names are Teddy Bear Too and Angel Bear Too. They are brother and sister. Angie is sleeping on the tablet. On our first visit to the breeder, we had 6 puppies to choose from. Angie actually chose me. As they are fairly expensive and somewhat of a handful, we had originally intended to get just one. The day we went back to the breeder, a 3 hour drive, to pick up our new 4 legged daughter, we noticed she appeared to have developed a special bond with one of her siblings. Since Coton's are known for having separation anxiety, we decided it was best to keep them together, plus, when we go out and leave them home, neither one will ever be alone. Double the trouble, twice the fun.

I am familiar with Cotons..... they are adorable and I love your choice of names, especially Angie!!!! I bet if my Buster had a sibling he wouldn't be so dependent on me...
Love your words... double the trouble, twice the fun!!! Enjoy them and would love to see more posts of them!!!

Before these two we had a male Maltese named Teddy Bear; he passed away at the age of 15, 3 years ago, and a female Maltese who's formal name was Angelica Angelique. She was a "rescue" we got from a co-worker of my wife, who didn't take care of her. We called her Angie and her license had her names listed as Angel Bear. We were told she was 5 years old when we got her. She passed away this past April when a grandchild accidentally let her out the front door. My wife was helping our daughter load her daughters into the car, which was parked in the street in front of the house and Angie wondered out to be with mommy. A big SUV drove up the street, on the wrong side, just missed hitting our daughter, brushed up against my wife and hit Angie. She was 12.

The Coton's are named after those two. Teddy Bear Too (as in also) and Angel Bear Too, their formal names, come from the two Maltese's. Their common names, Bert and Angie, also come from the two Maltese's. We originally decided to stay with Angie because the grand kids all missed Angie and kept asking where Angie was. We were originally only going to get 1 puppy, a female, and name her Angie. When we went to pick her up from the breeder, we had discussed the possibility of getting two but weren't sure. We realized quickly there was a special bond between our new puppy and one of her brothers. They appeared to be inseparable so we came home with two beautiful little Coton puppies.

We didn't have a name picked out for the little boy but on the three hour trip home from the breeder, he began to exhibit characteristics identical to out Maltese Teddy Bear when he was a tiny puppy. We watched him closely for a couple days and decided he was just like Teddy Bear when he was the same age. He looked like him and acted like him. That's when we decided Teddy Bear Too would be his formal name and just like Teddy Bear, his common name is Bert.

I'm soooooo sorry to hear of the passing of your first Maltese, Angie... how horrible that must have been
So you've always had two dogs... my Buster is part Maltese and Yorkie and is it true that Maltese are usually a one person dog... that's how he is, won't go to my husband unless he has food.
Well I'm so glad you have two new little puppies to fill your days with love and lots of cuteness!!! Hope you continue to post as they grow!! Take care!!

Yes, for the most part, a Maltese primarily bonds with one person, but this isn't always the case. Angelica was mommies little girl. She followed mommy everywhere. That's what got her killed. She went out the door because mommy was outside. When mommy wasn't around, eventually she went looking for daddy, number two.

Teddy Bear was also a full blood Maltese, and as Maltese go, a fairly unique one. He was the runt of the litter and grew up to be possibly the largest Maltese I've ever seen. He was over 15 pounds at his peak and not at all fat. He was an extremely intelligent dog and had a unique bond with both my wife and myself.

Our two Coton's at 12 weeks are doing things the first Teddy Bear didn't do until he was 7, 8 months old.

We use to have cats also but when they got old, we never replaced them. When we first got Maltese Teddy Bear, we had a mostly black cat named Widdle and a gorgeous Birman named Casey. Teddy Bear and Widdle were buds. Whoever said cats and dogs don't get along never met those two. Casey preferred his daddy to anyone else. If we were to ever get another cat, it would be a Birman.

Love these shots.... they are so cute and playful!! I hope you know how to groom them!!! My dog gets along with all our cats and now most of them at 12, I will not be replacing them either... now that I watch my grandson 3 days a week, I can't keep up with the cat hair that's all over!!
Thanks for sharing.... have a great day and enjoy those fur-balls!!!
