You can pre-order Nikon's 105mm f/1.4 lens. It has a list price of about $2,200.

"Micro" isn't in the name, so probably not.

Not only is it not a "Micro" lens, it apparently lacks image stabilization, which my 2.8 has!

Its a pro-level portrait lens. None of them have stabilization. The macro lenses do, but those aren't built for ultra-shallow depth of field and maximum bekehlicious creaminess.

Absolutely. That is why it is advertised as an addition to the 24mm 35mm; and the 58mm 1.4 and rhe 85mm 1.4.
You get what you pay for.

This 105mm f/1.4, costing $2200 has to be incredible. It will be a choice for pro photographers, no doubt. It is not advertised a macro 1:1, but rather a true portrait lens. Weddings, Studio, etc.

As a Canon and Leica shooter, I'm jealous of you Nikonians on this one.

You sure do with the 58/1.4, much better than Canon's (still great) 50mm f/1.2.

So much give and take in choosing a system these days. I switched from Nikon to Canon for the 85/1.2, 100/2.8 IS Macro and the 35/1.4 mk II which are better than their Nikon equivalents, but the Nikon 58/1.4 and this new 105/1.4 really excite me. Oh well, we can't have everything on one system.

Hope it's as nice as the old 105mm AI was from the 70s/80's

Jerry, I'm shocked. You are the Linkmeister! What gives?
