It's going to be a long week for me, I just ordered a new Sony Sonnar T* FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA Carl Zeiss lens, want be here till Monday week
Needless to say I'm pumped
Had to get into my little pink piggy bank to pay for it.
Thought I would post something a little different for a change.
I'm naming this set in the Arms of a Angle, They were shot in Oakwood Cemetery just outside of Waco, Texas, It's not the oldest in Waco but dates back to the 1870's, I think by the pictures you will see why they named it Oakwood, there are many unmarked and unknown graves here but it is a beautiful place and I enjoy shooting here with all the lights and shadows, it can be a real challenge.
Picture #5 is my favorite angle here, just because about 4 years ago vandals broke her arms off, it really made me mad, don't know why some A Hole would want to do something like that, but she has been repaired and looks beautiful as ever.
I hope you enjoy the set, please use the downloads, Not all are close ups, but close depends on how you look at it.
All Shot with a Sony A7rII with a Minolta MD Rokkor 50mm f1.4 manual focus lens.
Sorry I misspelled Angel, should read in the Arms of a Angel

Johnny, excellent photos of a difficult subject. Where I grew up and hunted in Florida there was a cemetery in the management area. It was still an active cemetery. The oldest headstone I ever found was in the 1850s. Needless to say I was in awe and respectful of the holy ground and my friends were also. If anyone ever destroyed something in the cemetery I am sure they would have regretted it. Thanks for posting these Angels, I enjoyed the series.
Greg
These are a very enjoyable view Johnny -- very well done.
So you misspelled a word. For your punishment you'll need to do an extra post next week.
Pierre
Nice work, Johnny! Every one!
Bob
Thanks Earl, I can't spell or type

Thanks much Creg, I will have to tell you one, in Lorena TX one time someone knock over all of the headstones, did lots of damage, but they caught him, the only reason they caught him because one headstone was not knocked over, The one not knocked over was a grave of a mother who son was 16 years old.

Johnny, I thought that was a play on words with angle for angel... I was expecting strange angle shots! Nice series and I enjoyed the angels and #3, which is my favorite!
You ask how people can be so evil.. you're not alone, we get these type of vandals on Long Island also, and it just breaks my heart and you can't imagine what would possess anyone to do something like that.... sick world this is!!!!!
Congrats and have fun with your new toy and I can't wait to see your posts!!
Nice shots, but the last is outstanding.
