Normally I associate colorful flowers with Spring, and think of of Summer as a time when everything is just green {and growing}. However, I took a walk today, and was surprised at the number of flowers I found hiding amongst the green stuff.
there is clover everywhere - unless a careful homeowner has banished it
these seem to live close to clover - whatever they are, at this time of year I had to search to find some "complete" ones
another one with lots of "partial" blooms - I thing these are the ones that make the the purple masses I see from the highway
look kind of like wild white petunias to me
I saw only one of these - next to a utility pole - and the irridescent bugs really made it stand out
this one is pretty, but I found out the hard way that the green spines are prickly - I wonder if the green bulb "behind" the flower is becoming a seed pod that will attach itself to some poor animal in the Fall
Very nice shots of a generous assortment of flowers you found on your walk. Well done!

Those really are summer flowers and many support our bee's! Lovely shots.

Thank you. I was kind of hoping to "catch" a bee, but all I found were those strange bugs in the fifth picture {my wife said that flower looks a tad past its prime, but I thought those bugs more than redeemed the picture}

Based on pictures I've seen elsewhere at UHH today, the last picture is some kind of thistle plant, and that is where I could have been lucky and seen a bee or a butterfly. We usually have lots of thistle plants in our yard, but our goal is usually to make them go away as soon as possible ... I'm not sure my wife would agree to a plan of setting some of them aside to attract wildlife that I might photograph some day.
Lovely set - #3 is a vetch of some sort; #4 is a wild morning glory; #5 is purple clover; and #6 is a thistle (the national flower of Scotland).

Thank you {I know a lot more about animals than about plants}

Well, giving you these plants pretty much depleted my store of knowledge about plants and flowers.
Beautiful summer flowers that you captured on your walk, rehess!
