I have seen a sling camera bag that allows you to swivel the bag to the front and access just the camera through a secondary compartment aside from the main compartment. I think it was posted on this site. Of course I made a mental note which strangely has now eluded me. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Check the Lowepro line of bags. They have several models and sizes. Others make them, too... Buy through B&H, Amazon, etc...
Lowepro makes a very good one.

Check the Lowepro Fastpak model. Size varies according to your needs.

You might check this one. I've been using these for about 5 years now. Cost around $35. Best part, they don't scream expensive camera equipment.

I my own the Lowepro 303AW A very well made Slingbag, it meets the demand for me, it is padded to protect camera and len's, I've had mine for three years. I give this bag five stars.
I use a Manfrotto sling bag.
FWIW - I started with the Lowepro Sling Bag - then when it would not carry enough comfortably I moved to a bag like the one you mention - I also bought a large Pelican case for just my lenses. Now I take what I think I need for the occasion in the canvas bag and leave my lenses safe in the Pelican case at home.
The normal carry along bag I settled on is a MOACC from Amazon....it does the job of carrying my camera with lens attached, flash, a spare lens and a bunch of doodahs needed by anyone with a DSLR, and the name NIKON does not appear in flashy letters anywhere.

I really scored big and found an older model Lowepro sling bag at an estate sale last month for $5.00. As an amateur photographer (bridge camera level), I knew nothing about the brand, but it looked very well made and never been used, so I bought it. I then looked up the brand on the internet. Evidently that particular model is no longer made, but I found a similar model (one of their "less expensive" models) for I think about $70.00. So I would guess that mine was at least $50.00 new. Funny thing, shortly after that, I saw several discussions on the Hog about Lowepros. Guess it was providential. I haven't had an opportunity to take it out yet, but have tried it on. It is very adjustable and comfortable and indeed is easy to swing around from back to front and open up to retrieve the camera. Has several compartments and storage areas, pockets for extra batteries and sd cards. I think the similar newer model may have an extra compartment or two, and a place for a water bottle.
I have this one. Got it at Fry's Electronics for $39 a year or two ago.
Thanks to all for the information and comments. I thought someone might have seen the one that I saw( or thought I saw, old age perhaps?), but nonetheless I really appreciate the helpful comments. I really like the Manfrotto and the Think Tank. I need to get to a camera store to physically and visually select one that feels comfortable for me. Even though I live in a highly photographed area (Cape Cod), there are no stores that offer a wide selection of equipment. Think the closest is Hunt Photo, 90 miles away.
