upgrading Imac memory

I have an Imac 21 inch with 4G Ram made in 2010 that I would like to upgrade. What is the max Ram can it take?

You should be able to do

4 - 204-pin PC3-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM

for a total of 16 gigs

I bumped my 4 year old Mac Book Pro up from 4 gb to 16 gb but need to increase the hard drive up from 500gb to 1 tb.

It's much easier working on a MBP than an iMac. I put a 500GB SSD in my MBP, but I wouldn't consider doing that with an iMac.

It's really not that difficult and can be done in less than 5 minutes; instructions are on the internet and can be done by anyone who can read, understand English and follow directions.

Every Imac I own has two memory slots, not 4.
Go to https://www.macsales.com/ to see what is allowed and what is available.

Just checked OWC myself and found that this model will accept 4 8gb modules , my apologies.

Go to Crucial.com and follow the directions they will tell you what you have and what you can use.
I have been using them for years , never any problems
