This is a request for a little tech help on the A900. In theory, complete manual mode with auto ISO should be available, and is exactly what I'd like. For example... Bird shooting is typically done at a shutter speed of 1/1000 sec. So in Manual mode, I'd like to set the shutter at 1/1000th, the aperture at 5.6, and ISO at auto... and just let the camera figure out what ISO is correct at those other settings and current light conditions... Doesn't happen.... Is there some secret setting in the menu I might be missing?
Thanks
-Mick
Page 74 in the manual states " The [Auto] setting is not provided in exposure mode M. If you change the exposure mode to M with the [Auto] setting, it is switched to [200]. Set the ISO according to your shooting conditions."
