SharpShooter, What actual advantage, did Canon gain over Nikon, through/by adopting, their new Lens Mount,
versus Nikon, retaining their same old, "F-mount," (now with electronic coupling?)
At that time, (perhaps, in 1987, when the EOS lenses came out), Canon came out with their new lens mount,
while Nikon just continued, with their same old, "F-mount" yet, Nikon, also used electronics, to facilitate the
electronic operation of the metering, diaphragm and auto-focus.
So, Canon, had their (Newly Designed, Lens Mount), (EOS), while Nikon, simply continued, with their same, F-mount.
How did "this", give Canon, a major advantage, and place Nikon, at a significant disadvantage, regarding future lens production?
Today, Nikon's F-mount, has the same full electronics, that Canon's EOS mount has...right?
(Nikon does, make f/1.2 lenses. You mistakenly said, that they don't. I don't know about f/1.0?)
And, yet, also? What the heck, would that, have anything, to do with, Nikon, still using, it's original, F-mount?
"That," holding them, (their engineering, or, production of lenses, back..?)
Will you please, explain these things, to me? I'm very curious to learn the answers to these things.
Thanks, Rob.
