One of my best dragonfly photos.
Bravo Canon 5Dsr + lens!
I always enjoy your precise images, Regis!
This is only my opinion. I believe that this very nice photograph can improve considerably with a darker background. That will bring more attention to the subject.
As I said, just my opinion.

I shot the dragonfly this morning using the soft morning sunshine to enhance the delicate
features of this insect. The dragonfly was about one and a half inches long and I shot it from about 6 feet away
using 560mm.
Canon 5Dsr - Canon 100-400 II - Canon 1.4x III - 1/800 - f/14 - ISO @ 1000.
It also is one of the best shots I've ever seen. Such beautiful detail. I can understand why this has become your main and most used camera now.

When you say "it's one of my best", I have to look because all of your shots are superior. It matched your comment! Thanks for sharing.

Excellent shot - awesome even on download - amazed you get such definition using a 1.4x111 converter.
It is the best 1.4 III extender to use with certain Canon cameras and lenses, personally speaking. There is no
degradation in my photos from this Canon 1.4 III extender.
I thank you very much, Rathyatra. I appreciate your input.

Great shot Regis. What you have here is an male Eight-spotted Skimmer (Libellula forensis). Fine work.

This is one of the prettiest dragonflies i have ever photographed. I thank you for your specific information
on this species of dragonfly, Doc.
Best dragonfly photo I have ever seen! I think the light you found put it over the top.

Beautiful - lots of gorgeous detail on download!
The Canon 100-400mm II telephoto lens does a great job of bringing out
the detail. A macro lens will give you great detail, but you might scare the dragonfly away when
you get too close to it.
I thank you very much, sb, for your nice reply.
Nicely done Regis. Love the detail of the wings and the overall lighting.
Good job!!!
