Hello, all....
"Old-timers" may remember me here...maybe not.
They may remember Ian Hargraves, whom I encountered here first..later met and visited for a month in Fla.
He became my mentor-of-sorts...my number one cheerleader and penpal for years.
He confounded me at times...scolded me at times...entertained and irritated me...pushed me...pulled me...instructed me and chided me...
And enriched my life in ways I never saw coming.
Ian was knowledgeable and generous.
He passed from this life on July 10, after battling cancer for 8 mos.
I wrote him nearly every day and HE wrote ME a multitude of times a day...sharing instructional links...endless naughty jokes...encouraging words and general ancedotes from his own life.
I miss him dearly.
These are the final casual portraits I sent him of my grandkids during their two-week visit.
I don't think he ever saw them...but I have them because of him.
Xox Thank you, Ian. May you rest in eternal peace, love & light.
Thanks for letting us know ! ......about a GREAT relationship .......so hard to find !

Sure I remember Ian! Enjoyed his many posts and comments.
I send my deepest sympathy to you and his family for his passing.
You have created a great tribute to him!
Pat
Sorry for your sad loss. Ian obviously taught you well. Your pictures are beautiful. Hopefully your Grandchildren will develop an interest in your art and you can pass on Ian's talents to them. That would be a legacy he would be proud of.

Beautiful photos!!! So sorry for your loss.
Welcome back! And with an excellent series of portraits, to boot! Well done, and so sorry to hear of Ian's passing.
Yes, I remember you both and have missed the both of you. When we don't know...we sit and wonder. This is sad news but nice to have you back, even if briefly and under sad circumstances. I'm so glad you and Ian got the share time together. Thanks for updating us. Take care of YOU!
Deepest sympathies. It apparent that his legacy lives on in your beautiful photos.
I am actually a little surprised the news wasn't already shared here (or maybe it was and I couldn't find it?)
I know he had many friends on UHH.

*soft smiles*
Thank you for your kind compliment and compassion.
I took a few minutes to look back on my previously posted stuff (after having posted from my cell phone...THERE'S a learning curve lol)...I have grown a bit photographically speaking :)
And it wasn't just Ian: it was this forum in-general...and MANY generous friends who critique with honesty and encourage with passion & kindness.
I have missed everyone and look forward to enjoying beautiful imagery and resumed friendships again. Xx

Theresa, I was not a member of UHH back when you and Ian were but I can tell from your photos that Ian was a very good teacher and you a very good student. I feel the pain in your heart for I lost a sister-in-law in late June and I miss her and her husband as they were good friends in addition to being in-laws. I believe that the friends and loved ones we have lost are never gone from our lives as long as we remember them as you have and I know you will forever. God Bless you two and your two families.

Jim.
RIP indeed.
He had a ridiculousy zealous habit of dreaming big and never stopped trying to sell the possibilites to anyone who would listen.
I admired that immensly.
The best tribute to him, I realise now, is to never give up.
I was ready to.
Thank you, Jim
