I'm more partial to the rocks along the shore, and the trail with all the shadows; nice composition. Thanks for sharing them.
I shot about 100 pictures over two days at Lake Tahoe and like you I am partial to some. I found the Lake itself to be hard to capture in any magnificent way. The forests around the lake provide an infinite amount of opportunities for some great pictures but takes a truly trained and observant mind to capture them ...at least that's the way I saw it. Thanks for your reply; it is appreciated.

I really love picture #9.
Thanks for your interest, turp77. Appreciate it. It was one of my favorites also.
Yes, #9 is your best shot in my opinion. The stairs with sand is way over-exposed. You are right about trying to capture the essence of the lake's beauty.
Probably an early morning shot of boulders/trees/water/sunrise would be best. I was there in 1977 on my way home from Yosemite, at mid-day, & being time-challenged, I didn't get any great shots that I liked.
I have another shot of the stairs which is not over exposed but missing something at the top to make it more complete (according to a photographer who critiqued it.) I totally agree with you that early morning would be the best lighting to capture the lake scenery. After 10am it just gets way too bright. I have no real excuse as I only live 15 minutes from the lake. In 1977 I lived in Las Vegas, NV and took my whole family to Lake Tahoe on vacation. I did get some shots then but wouldn't you know it; mid afternoon also! :-)
