Well of course open carry didn't help in this situation due to the fact the shooters/snipers were not easily located and were barricaded inside building structures. If these shooters/ shooter were out in the open, these shooters may well have been engaged by open or concealed carry citizens. We also have to consider that these police officers that were gunned down were also open carry, does this mean that officers open carry is also BS? just a disclaimer, I am not in favor of open carry myself...all should have them concealed from the public.

They should make a law saying that active shooter cannot hide behind cover, they must stay out in the open.... yeah, that's the ticket!

As you might have noticed the police took cover as well. There are times, as in millions a year when armed citizens help to stop crime in progress. This was not supposed to be one of those times.

Didn't we just have a lengthy discussion on this in The Attic a couple of days ago. Does your clipping change anything. The police are there to take care of problems like this. The open carry people, for all of your Liberal ranting and with all of their ammo belts??? did absolutely no damage and were not any part of the disturbance whatsoever. I saw nobody wearing body armor. Did you?

Most of the protesters, if not all, did not have any ammo with them. I doubt they had body armor. You'd have to prove this to me. As I said in another post, the protester that were armed did so symbolically. They did not come to a protest to shoot anyone. They did not come expecting to have to defend anyone. They did not have sniper training and neither did any of the police officers that were k**led or wounded. Only the SWAT officers have this kind of training. If you are confronted by a sniper, I would think that it's best to run and take cover as fast as you can and to call the police experts. If you poke your head up, you are likely to get it shot off. Common sense.

You only have to consider the source of the OP. He's like that incontinent old relative we all seem to have had or heard about at one time or another. He s**ts wherever he feels like and then just walks away.

The problem with the open carry situation as it applies to the Dallas tragedy, is the restriction on weapons allowed to be owned by the public. A couple of LAWS, or a M-2 .50 cal MG, maybe a surplus 106 MM recoiless rifle, I know a flame thrower, all of these weapons would have been very effective in the Dallas tragedy. You 'all looking at the issue all wrong!
