Last year I posted about what appeared to be a scam by an aluminum trailer manufacturer in north western Pa. I had heard nothing from them in nearly a year. At that time, they were not accepting phone calls, but suggested communication via email. Well, they never responded to emails, either. I finally found the trailer I wanted locally; purchased it; and wrote off the loss of money as a lesson learned. Although the original purchase was via eBay, the company claimed the right to delay manufacture for up to 8 weeks "due to materials availability". EBay only provides a 30-day window to file a claim. Thus, I lost out due to that loophole in eBay's policy. PayPal was not an issue as the seller did not accept it.
Sooo, just got an email from a business manager who was hired by the company in May to help straighten out the mess which was a backlog of approximately 72 trailers. Plenty of apologies and excuses were included in the email along with a chart indicating tentative build dates. According to this new hire he claims the backlog has been reduced to 40. Thus, 32 units have been manufactured and delivered in about two months. My build date is listed for Oct 11-13 (a 3 day build is estimated for my particular trailer model). If they come through with this, it will have been two years from time of order. Also, right after it's delivered I'll have it up for sale. Not holding my breath yet. Will do another follow-up when something significant occurs.
