Question About Lawn Mowers and Gasoline with Ethanol.

Most every town has a station that sells gas without Ethanol. It cost about $1.00 per gallon more than regular. Also marina's sell it.
Don't know where you got that idea....there are VERY few gas stations in Pa that sell non-ethanol gasoline.

Thanks to all for your responses.
Add Stabil for ethanol to your gas cans that you use for your small engines, it's available at any Lowes/Home Depot store!

LOL! There are 14 stations in the whole state of Ct that sell non-ethanol,according to my search. Buy the additive if you live here!
Usually find ethanol-free gas at a station that caters to boating. Live near a marina?

I don't know why I would do that if I can use a simple additive that is readily available anytime I need it? But I guess that's an option.

I can't find anywhere that sells gasoline without ethanol.
What is the "harm" in using gasoline with ethanol?
That's ridiculous! Return it! 10% ethanol is the standard now. If there's a warranty problem, they'll blame it on the fuel. I've had quite a few mowers over the years, and not one required non-ethanol fuel. What kind of mower is this?

What brand is the engine?
Are you sure they didn't say to avoid methanol?
Give us a break. Your mowers didn't even have motors.
The mowers will run fine with the ethanol and then will accumulate additional moisture as far as I can determine. Eventually I guess many don't run fine. Also, apparently there are requirements to run very lean and that makes for a touchy and often pulsating motor. At any rate,it is not carburetor friendly and we are dealing with it.
For what it is worth. I have a 16yr old 17 hp. Briggs & Stratton on my riding mower. I put sat-bil in the gas each fill up and I have never had a problem. I use it in all my gas powered equipment. During winter months I start and run all my equipment once a month to keep them from a possible gum up.

Make sure it's the lowest octane available.
Thanks everyone.
I think I have what I need now.
I appreciate everyone's help.

In the early days, that was true. I used to cut the fields with a scythe. Then some guy invented the internal combustion engine, and they eventually found their way onto lawnmowers. Now I make as much noise and exhaust smell as my neighbors.

Some of the manufactures are recommending 89 octane, who the heck knows? I have to use high octane in my car at 50 cents a gallon more,so I use the 89 in Stihl,Honda,John Deere,Cub Cadet, I'm easy! The extra few bucks a year I could save could go to camera equipment, but my wife isn't that easy!
That is the one I was going to suggest. On there I see at least 7 stations that offer ethanol free gas.
