I have found a way to make my Topaz Black and White plug-in work in CS6.
So I thought I'd run a test.
For this is simply selected a preset within the Platinum Library.
Back into photoshop where I added two adjustment layers;
Brightness/Contrast and Vibrance.
Reduced to 8 bit, added an edge burn, and sized to 72 dpi.
A simple Sharpen, and saved.
Here it is, down and dirty as simple as you can get.

What you've done sounds complicated, but you've obviously had great success with this shot. Well done.
Not really complicated, but when I first began working with Photoshop everything seemed that way. I'm not implying anything, just that when I began it was intimidating. Then as I learned what I could use to get what I was after it became easier.
Thanks for the kind words.
I was raise in the East Bay, Pleasant Hills and Concord, have some Colombo's Salame and Alameda French bread for me.

I just realized I'm hungry. Salami on French bread would taste good right now. I doubt you miss the Concord area or its traffic. I hear E. Texas is rather pretty.
I left in 61 and have only been back for short visits. The traffic is a mess, but I do miss Casper's World Famous Hot Dogs.
Add a slice of good Swiss Cheese with that Salami and you've found a winner.
