I am finally going to post some of my images to a photo-share site, but am unsure of the process I need to go through prior to downloading, besides watermarking.
Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Technically you upload to a server, and download to your own computer from a server, but it's OK. ;)
Check the site's requirements for image size - there may be a minimum and/or maximum, stated in pixels. You may need to adjust your image size to meet the requirements (if any).
Since you are only sharing, and not providing stock or reference images that folks are allowed to download, I'd set the image resolution to 72 dpi. You should be able to do this with your editor.
If you want people to find your images in the site's search feature, use good keywords for the photo. If the site uses keywords, they should have a way to add them once you upload the photo. Keywords are more related to stock images than sharing, so you may not want to bother.

Thank you. That was my project in the digital photo class. A few I am not happy with, but just didn't have many more opportunities. A lot went to dust bin.
