Spotted at a charming bakery I discovered on a road trip yesterday. I have just started working on this image, so am super-interested to see your versions. I suspect it would make an interesting texture as well as stand-alone shot.

A dng file is available for download below the jpg. Thanks for participating!

Jpg straight from camera. Use this one, or the dng below, to find its potential!

Let me just say congratulations Linda, this one has all sorts of possibilities and if I can steal some time I will play around with it.

Great example of levels:
...of detail
...of perceptions
...of feelings
...of elicited emotions

An exceptionally involving image!

I can conjure up neither desire nor motivation to modify this admirable image. Sorry...er...no, not really!

O.K. I'll confess...I finally decided to futz with the raw download, but must confess I produced no variant I consider superior in any way to your posted version.

Like Dave, I suspect one shouldn't mess with success. But since we've been invited to mess, I'm messing.

Maybe it just rained, a very humid day, and the windows might be fogged up? A little HDR to bring up the color and light, and a layer of Gaussian blur wiped clear centrally in the panes of glass.

Hi Linda, This was a tough one. I really wanted to see some detail in the window pane dividers. I also thought that the high contrast between the vines and the leaves in the sun should be kept or enhanced. So I decided to go with a partial watercolor treatment. First I brought out the detail in the wooden dividers and then I selected each individual pane to treat with a watercolor filter from PS. This made the vines very dark which is what I wanted; but kept some detail in the leaves. The only thing I had to do then in LR was to selectively tone down highlights. Hope you like it. I also decided to crop the top and the left of the image. They were not doing anything for me and I like the lack of symmetry. I think the horizontal and vertical frame elements on the top and the left actually cause the viewers eye to move diagonally through the image. ( Alternatively I might be completely full of it with that last observation)

Unique and clever viewpoint, Randy. Thanks so much. We could do a whole challenge on views through foggy windows, methinks!

Thank you for your detailed explanation and time, Erich. I have a 6-pane composition posted to Gallery and never thought about editing each frame individually - lol. Pea brain at work, the "new normal" for me.

I particularly like your frame textures and details and your asymmetrical crop. Your participation is much appreciated!

As you found, Frank, there are many details hiding in the under-exposed image. I like this very much! Thanks for participating.

Hi Linda, it took me a while to get to this, but when I saw your original image, I immediately envisioned it highlighted by a raging fire and that is what I was aiming for here. Thanks for letting me play along!

Oh wow, Jim, the colors are super! Whether fire or perhaps a more gentle story of golden autumn dawn - lol, this is an imaginative and fascinating version. Thanks so much.

Thank you, Byron! But there are many ways to go with this one as you've seen already, so if you change your mind, we're here for several more days
