Mini Theme: Commercial St. P'Town
Commercial St. Provincetown is, as the name would suggest, a busy thoroughfare. On summer evenings it becomes a hustle bustle of pedestrians, bicycles, cars, and pedi-taxis weaving through each other. A colorful and exotic place to see and be seen. And yet there are pockets of calm and normality. I have tried to capture a few of them. Encouragement and positive suggestions appreciated.

The Card Painter
Lobster Pot
A great and colorful look at life in P-town. Excellent work!
Photo #2 - creative and interesting composition, showing us a lot of the architecture and a great subject.
Photo #3 - I love that you included all the people, several of whom appear to be ignoring the lovely red-hatted lady and her music. Their loss, I imagine.
Photo #6 - Terrific composition, made most interesting with the neon lights aglow and the couple intently studying the menu. Also makes me homesick for Maine lobstah rolls.
Super "Sense of Place" series!
All are good photos. The Card Painter drew my attention the most - he's quite the talented artist.
A nice look at the city--the last one is my favorite.
Loved them all! My favorite was the second (house with flag on the side and interesting staircase on the right). Hope you have time to go back and retake some of these in less contrasty light. I keep going back to the artist and trying to figure out how the cards fit into the picture of the man!
Thank you all for taking the time to look at these and for adding your comments. Having somewhere to display your efforts is a powerful motivator. The Cape is such a photo rich place it is easy to be overcome like a child in a candy store and I find that settling on a mini theme focuses the mind wonderfully. I am working on a couple more of these mini themes and I hope you will check in again.
Cape Codder – I will definitely revisit these again. The light on the Cape is wonderful, but I have a lot to learn on how to use it effectively. BTW the card painter uses the cards like a spatula or trowel to apply the paint, they are not in the painting.
Linda – if you make it to the Cape sometime send me a PM and I will treat you to a Lobstah Roll – not you Cape Codder or Tree Pusher – you can buy your own. Thanks again.
Thanks for explaining about the cards and the artist!
