MS Email question

I recently accepted the upgrade for MSOffice. I did not know it included MSEmail as well.
Can't say it was a mistake, but its close to one!
EVERYthing Word, Exel, PowerPoint, ect, etc changed a great deal!

However, my question is in Email.
For some reason I now have three paynes in the window.
1st payne is my folders, not much changed here except the folder and now are "folders" like in Word directory.
2nd payne is where the emails are identified and a brief description of each email. This payne I do not want.
3rd payne in the actual email.

Complaint, the email is much shorter than before because of the second payne.
How do I get rid of the 2nd payne?

I've searched all the options I can find and cannt figure out how to delete the payne.

ANY help is appreciated.
Dave

I just wish MS would stop telling us how THEY want you to work.
I'm off my soapbox now.

Just a guess, grab an edge and resize like nearly any window to a minimum, in your case likely not able to eliminate or delete the paine. I have not had MS-Mail since Verizon went with AOL for their interface. And now Verizon sold their FiOS business in CA, TX, and FL to Frontier. So I've only had the Verizon-AOL email interface for many months.

I agree with you about Microsoft being intrusive and taking away our choices. Big business is little better than government today. Damn, they have been pushy with Windows 10. I have it now and like it as much as Windows 7 once I got used to it. They moved some many things around.

I have not been happy with MS-Office since version 2003. Too many options and drop-down windows. I find it extremely slow working from the user stand point. Right now I have Office 2016 Pro on my PC and Office 2010 Pro on my wife's. Both similarly confusing compared to Office 2000 Pro.

Thanks for the reply and information lamiceae.
The payne in question shows that I can move the border(s) yet it will not move them for re-size or complete dissaperance.
However, I can drag the side of the 1st payne to about half size window, covering the last parts of the information to not show. If I continue to move the side on the 1st payne, it moves to the side with small tab type that i click on and it resizes to full size with the indormation.
To me its a real bother as I move emails around constantly from the read files to the storage folders...

I agree, this is NOT productive and is a waste of my time!
Like you said, "microsoft being intrusive" and telling me what I need to do rather than letting me do what I want to do and how to do it - that has worked successfuly for many YEARS successfuly!

I'd go back to WordPerfect in a heartbeat if the files could be opened by anyone that I send the files to...
this is like the OS MAc and Windows....very propritery and limited.

Thank again for the information however!

Have a great day!
Dave

Try this:
Disable
Open the Microsoft Outlook program.
Click the View menu or tab at the top of the program window.
Click on the Reading Pane or Preview Pane option.
Select the Off option.

Shellback,
Tanks for the information and directions.

However, when I click on Off, all it did was remove the email reading pane
and expanded the 2nd pane to full view...no email payne.

I tried several of the optoions and none closed the 2nd pane.

Thanks again.
I see that I had missspelled the word Pane...Payne, Corrected this.
I'll continue to "mess" with the Reading Pane option.

I refuse to use Microsoft Mail. I do use and like OE Classic the free version and now the paid version.

My other email was Eudora and really miss it.

Sarge, yes, I know what you mean!
In my opinion the XP version of Outlook Express was the GREATEST email client MS EVER had!
There were so many things I could do with this program and then I HAD to go to MS Win 7 because MS said that XP would no longer be supported.....WHY??
And they give us progams that THEY think we need to use.
Frustrating!

Thanks again.

just wish MS would stop telling us how THEY want you to work. That is what happens when you turn your life over to someone else. They think they are in charge and your wishes are out the window. Think government on that one.

If you hold the mouse over any vertical separator (which will turn to a double sided arrow) you can them resize the panes to your liking.

OnDSnap; Yes, I can move the second pane (information about the emails) right side. It will widen this pane to page to the right and I have about 1/4 emali wondow.
If I try to move the left side it will move left about half way covering the folders pane, if I move it further left,
it causes the folders to move far left and on the side and it replaces the information pane to tabs and then I have a widen 2nd pane!

If I try to move the right side of the 2nd pane to the right it will go so far and stop, cannot move the side any further to reduce this column!
Moving it will give me a 3 1/2 column only!

Thanks for your reply and suggestion.
I ready to call MS and ask "what the Hell Just Happened"?
There are other problems with the email as well... Lots of double listings of the same email!

I prefer Google cloud based email. Really easy to use once you get the hang of the screen and since it's in the cloud it works on all my computers, phone and tablet. If I erase an email it eliminates it from all the other devices as well. I have had customers computers crash because they never deleted any of their email on older Windows machines, with the cloud based mail it shows how much room you have and what you have left so that won't happen. You can also increase your space if needed.

Thanks for the information malawibob!
If I cannot get results from MS I just might look into these two emails clients!

Thanks for the reply WayneT.
I have not heard of this email before.
I can assume...that it is not a freebee?
I "rent" MS and gads! Their updates are horridness!
It changes ALL of the package of programs!
PowerPoint is a good example. I get to where I can manage the program fairly easy and then their recent up grade was a disaster for me.
Now I have to start over learing the program. There programs are becoming so confusing and to me they are NOT productive at all.
I teach at our local Community College part time and I use PowerPoint alot for lectures, photos, etc.
I spend more time DAILY trying to get the lesson plans on PowerPoint.

But, thanks for the reply, I did not mean to cry on your shoulder..
