I trying to install a free trial of Adobe CC but can not run the install file. I click the file and I say yes to install but nothing happens. Why is that?
Do you have Administrator Rights?

Verify that you have Administrator rights and that you are downloading the correct version (that is 32bit or 64 bit). It is supposed to automatically download the correct version but it never hurts to verify. Also download Belarc Advisior as it will give you a permanent list of everything about your computer (processor, memory, motherboard, network, and name, version, and license numbers of all software installed on your computer. I keep a hard copy for emergencies as it also includes the license key for Windows 10 itself. If worse comes to worse and I have to reinstall all of the software, I have copies of all the keys in one spot. I rerun belarc and print 2 copies out every time I install a new product or every 3 months which ever happens first. I then put a copy of the Belarc printout in my safe deposit box at the bank with my backups.

Have you turned off virus scanning and ALL other applications are shut down?

Time to call Adobe and spend the requisite three hours on hold... DO NOT hang up until your problem is solved.
Just installed and ran Belarc Advisor. That was great. Didn't even know such a program existed. UHH strikes again.
Just a thought, depending on your hardware, it might take a while before the installer appears to be doing anything. Check your HD light and see if it is flashing after you click on install.

Just so you know, I have used Belarc Advisor since 1999, and have used it on versions of Windows 95, 98, NT, XT, 2000, Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit), and now Windows 10 (32bit and 64 bit). I have used it, not only as documentation for my computers and companies that I worked for, but for customers and friends computers. I have used the license keys that were reported, in order to completely rebuild and reinstall the OS and all licensed software (Microsoft, Adobe, and others assuming that you have copies of the diskettes/CDRom/ DVDs or downloads) in order to do fresh clean re-installs of the original software which will then generally go out and do the appropriate updates. It has saved my rear many times by enabling me to do fresh installs on computers with viruses etc. and also to perform clean hard drive upgrades and computer upgrades. I have purchased new computers for clients, and the reinstalled their older software on the new computer in order to get them back up and running. (this is assuming that they have expensive software that they would prefer not to invest new money in the current versions (for instance I am still running Microsoft Word 2007)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BelarcI really do use this software as a major part of my system backups.
